The first time I made chana patties, I wasn’t trying to be healthy
I was just tired
Tired of oily takeout
Tired of feeling heavy after eating
Tired of apologizing to my body with words like “just this once.”
So I mashed boiled chickpeas
Added onions
Spices
A little lemon
A little hope
And when the patty crisped on the pan…
It smelled like effort

Chana Patties for Burgers (Simple & Strong)- How To Make Chana Patties for Burgers
Ingredients
1 cup boiled chickpeas (mashed)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
2 tbsp chopped coriander
1 green chili (optional)
½ tsp cumin powder
½ tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
2 tbsp bread crumbs or besan flour
Lemon juice
Oil for shallow frying
Method to make the Chana Patties
Mash the chana roughly – leave some texture. Life is better with texture
Add onion, spices, salt, lemon, coriander and crumbs or besan
Shape into patties
Pan fry till golden on both sides
Place inside buns with:
cucumber
tomato
lettuce
onion rings
mint coriander chutney or yogurt sauce
Hold it
Look at it
You made strength edible
