On days when energy dips and emotions run low, when the body feels heavy and the heart a little quieter than usual, a warm bowl of beetroot rasam feels like comfort you don’t have to explain

It isn’t dramatic food and doesn’t overwhelm the senses

It arrives gently steaming, fragrant, familiar like a hand placed softly on your back, saying, “I’m here.”

I’ve noticed how my body leans toward rasam on days like these. Not craving richness. Not asking for indulgence. Just seeking warmth, lightness, and reassurance

And beetroot rasam answers that call beautifully


Why Beetroot Rasam?

Rasam has always been more than a dish. In many homes, it is the first comfort food we learn — light on the stomach, heavy with care

When beetroot joins rasam, something special happens

Beetroot rasam:

Ingredients to Make the Beetroot Carrot Tomato Rasam:

1. 1/4 Beetroot:

2. 1 Small Carrot

3. 1 Tomato

4. A Garlic cloves

5. 1 Teaspoon Dhania / Coriander and Jeera / Cumin – powder or whole

6. 1/2 Teaspoon Whole Black Pepper

7. A Handful of Kadipatta / Curry Leaves

8. Spices to Taste: Salt, turmeric, and hing / asafoetida

9. A Handful of Coriander Leaves and few curry leaves For garnish and a fresh burst of flavor

Let’s Rasam Up Your Life:

Toss the beetroot, carrot, and tomato into a small pot and boil until they’re softer. Let them cool down

Blend Like a Pro:

Once cooled, put all the veggies into a mixer grinder

Add garlic, coriander, cumin, black pepper, and curry leaves and Blend until you’ve got a paste smoother

Transfer the glorious paste into a deep-bottomed vessel

Add double the amount of water, because nobody likes a rasam that’s thicker

Stir in turmeric, salt, and hing

Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for 7 to 10 minutes

Garnish and Serve:

Toss in the chopped coriander leaves

Enjoy: Pour yourself a hot, aromatic glass of this rasam and relish every sip
