Menopause Symptoms
Tales of a Homemaker in the Menopause series – Post 2
Menopause Symptoms
They say a woman glows in her midlife
I glow too except mine comes in sudden bursts of volcanic heat that arrive without invitation, like relatives during festival season
It starts innocently like one minute I’m folding the clothes and the next I feel like I’m being slow-roasted in my own skin
The fan’s on full speed, but I’m still waving my dupatta like a woman possessed
My husband, terrified yet helpful, offers the only solution he knows: “Should I turn on the AC?”
No, dear, turn on your understanding
The Fire Within-menopause symptoms
I used to think “hot flashes” were just about body temperature
Now I know that it’s the soul’s way of saying, “Something inside you wants attention.”
Because with the heat comes the rage — the heavenly kind
One minute I’m chanting, the next I’m shouting,
“Why is everyone shouting?!”
My family has now learned the art of silent survival

Even the dog waits for my temperature to cool before asking for a walk
But secretly, I admire this fire
It burns away the old — the people-pleasing, the exhaustion, the guilt
Maybe menopause isn’t chaos after all. Maybe it’s purification — the divine cleaning of the soul
The Homemaker’s Cool Kit for the menopause symptoms
When the inner volcano erupts, I reach for my tried-and-tested home remedies:
1. Coriander water: Soak coriander seeds overnight and sip through the day — cools the system naturally
2. Aam panna or buttermilk: Grandma’s magic against the body heat
3. Deep breathing + short retreat: Even five minutes of silence in the balcony helps
4. And yes, sometimes the best remedy is to let the anger out — not on people, but on paper
I’ve started journaling my “rages.” It’s cheaper than therapy and doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings
A Spiritual Wink
Maybe these hot flashes are reminders that a woman’s fire doesn’t fade, in fact it only changes form
The same fire that once ran a home, cooked a hundred meals, and held everyone together now asks,
“What about me?”
And when you listen to that inner flame — without guilt — it begins to glow gently instead of burn wildly
do make time to read my other blog
Reflection for Today’s Woman on the menopause symptoms
“Don’t curse the heat — it’s your power waking up
Cool it with grace, not guilt.”
and smile away your hot flashes and rages
bye for now,
until next time, keep smiling
much love … stay happy .. stay blessed … always
