Mint Plant
It was one of those sultry afternoons when tempers ran higher than the temperature
A small argument had brewed at home — the kind that begins with something trivial and ends with silence filling the room
I walked into the kitchen to cool off, not realizing that healing would begin there
As I opened the fridge, a bunch of mint plant caught my eye — fresh, green, alive with aroma
I pulled out the leaves and rinsed them gently and began to grind them into yummy green chutney with the required condiments
The familiar fragrance rose filling the air with something clean, sharp and strangely soothing
As the leaves crushed under the stone, I felt my own stiffness softening
My grandmother used to say, “Pudina cools the body — and the heart, if you let it.”
She would always serve mint chutney on days after heated arguments or long journeys, saying, “Let bitterness leave with the first taste.”
I never fully understood her words until that day
When I finally sat down to eat, the mint chutney glowed a deep green space beside the meal — humble but powerful and aromatic
Its first taste was fresh, tangy and alive
It was as though each leaf whispered, “Let go… start again.”
The room felt lighter, and so did my heart
Later, I found myself laughing again, the tension melting like salt in water
Mint plant, in Ayurveda, is known to calm pitta — the fiery energy that fuels both passion and anger

It cools digestion, clears the breath and awakens the senses
not only chutneys but you can make mint mojito, mint detox water or simply just chew on those beautiful leaves
seriously mother earth has given us such beautiful herbs to mankind for their livelihood and healing which we fail to realize
But beyond its physical healing, mint plant carries a spiritual reminder which is forgiveness, like freshness, must be renewed every day
When we allow resentment to linger, it ferments clouding our mind dulling our joy
But a few moments with mint — its scent, its taste, its life remind us that lightness is always possible
That renewal begins not with the other but within ourselves
So now, whenever I feel heaviness whether in my thoughts or in my stomach — I brew a simple mint tea or make a green chutney
As the fragrance fills my home, I remember that healing doesn’t always come from grand gestures
Sometimes, it arrives quietly — leaf by leaf, breath by breath
and the most best part.. mint plant can be grown easily in pots in your balcony … just put in few strong sticks of mint bought from the market and nurture it with water, sunlight and with loads of love and care….
my personal experience that plants reciprocate your love and attention 💖

Reflection on the minty mint plant:
Mint plant teaches the art of release — the cool courage it takes to forgive
Its fragrance doesn’t fight the heat but it transforms it
In every sip, every leaf, there’s a gentle invitation to start anew
bye for now
until next time, keep smiling
much love … stay happy … stay blessed .. always
