Menopause Series
Menopause Series
Because even hot flashes deserve a sense of humour!
I never thought I had reach a stage in life where I had walk into a room and forget why I entered it not once but five times in a row and then blame the poor ceiling fan for spinning too fast
Welcome to the menopause series, my new uninvited houseguest
She came without knocking, rearranged all my emotions, misplaced my memory and seems to have permanently hidden my waist somewhere behind the rice jar
Now, I’m not a doctor or a dietician nor yoga guru but just a regular homemaker who juggles masalas, moods, and menopause everything in the same kitchen
What I am, though, is a woman who refuses to let this phase be all about complaints
If my hormones can throw surprises, I can throw humour back at them and have a blast!
The Change That Changes Everything
They call it “The Change” and it truly is
The body changes, yes but so does the mind, patience, priorities and even prayer
One day, I am simply weeping over that burnt dal, the nextday , I am as calm as a sage even though the pressure cooker whistles like a war drum
It’s as if my inner thermostat, emotions, and sense of logic went on strike together
But somewhere between the hot flashes and the rages, I began to listen to my body, to the silence and to forgotten dreams
Menopause, I have realised that it isn’t an ending but It’s an invitation to pause, purge and rediscover the woman beneath the homemaker

The Homemaker’s Lens on the menopause series
Most blogs tell you about hormones and supplements
I’ll tell you what happens when you try to meditate, and the neighbour’s pressure cooker hisses louder than your breath
Or when your teenage child says, “You’re so moody, Amma,” and you want to gift them a biology textbook
This is a homemaker’s diary — seasoned with humour, tears, turmeric and a little spiritual seasoning
Because wisdom, like pickle, matures best with time (and a pinch of salt)
Why This menopause Series
I am writing this series, “Tales of a Homemaker in Menopause,” not to lecture, but to laugh and to remind us all that we are not losing our minds but we are simply changing chapters
Each post will share:
A slice of everyday madness
A home or herbal remedy
A spiritual or emotional reflection
And a gentle question to carry in your heart
Because sometimes the cure is not in the kitchen or the clinic but it’s in that conversation
do watch my blog
Reflection for Today’s Woman
“When the body pauses, the soul begins to speak
Listen even if your inner voice sounds like she’s having a hot flash too.”
a time to ponder and nurture your inner self
so let’s enjoy the menopause series my dear ladies
until next time, keep smiling
much love … stay happy … stay blessed … always
