Menopause Symptoms
Tales of a Homemaker in the Menopause series – Post 6
Menopause Symptoms
Once upon a time, I was fire — not literally😉
Not the kind that burns chapatis, rather the kind that made hearts skip a beat
There was romance in the air, twinkle in the eyes, and a certain bounce in the step (and hair)
Somewhere between school projects, sambhar, and sleepless nights, that flame quietly took early retirement
These days, the only sparks seems to fly is from the gas stove
Then one day, while folding clothes, I caught sight of an old dupatta — red, silky, and just a little mischievous… nostalgia…
I smiled
Where did that woman go?
And a quiet voice inside said
“She’s still here .. just waiting for you to light the lamp again.”
The Midlife Myths -Menopause Symptoms
They tell us that after forty, passion fades that we’re supposed to be calm, composed, and content with sudoku and sambhar
But who decided that?
I may be dealing with hot flashes, yes, but there’s still a different kind of heat that hums inside — a warmth that wants expression, laughter, touch and connection
It’s not about seduction anymore, it’s about that aliveness
Sometimes, I light a diya in the evening and think
maybe this inner heat isn’t punishment, it’s power
The goddess energy that once nurtured others now wants to nurture me
The Homemaker’s Rekindling Ritual for the Menopause Symptoms
When the spark feels lost, try this little home-and-heart recipe:
1. A spoon of Shatavari powder in warm milk or hot water— balances hormones, cools the system, and revives feminine energy
2. Dance to your old songs while cooking. (Bollywood or bhajans, both count.)
3. Dress up for no reason. Not for a function, not for anyone but just for your reflection
4. Write yourself a love note. You’ll be surprised how healing it feels to say, “I still choose me.”
The Spiritual Flame
There’s something divine about rediscovering yourself after decades of devotion to others
It’s like lighting a lamp after a long blackout — not to attract attention, but to remind yourself that you were never dark
The “forgotten flame” isn’t about youth or vanity but it’s about presence
When you start living with awareness, every breath becomes beautiful again
do make time to read my blog
Reflection for Today’s Woman for the menopause symptoms
“Your flame never died rather it only waited for you to look inward
Be the light that warms, not burns.”
bye for now
until next time, keep smiling
much love … stay happy … stay blessed … always
