Menopause Body Changes
Tales of a Homemaker in the Menopause series – Post 3
Menopause Body Changes
I used to love mirrors
They were my silent cheerleaders always reflecting back a woman who could tie her hair in five seconds, drape a saree in six, and smile confidently while checking if the curry needed salt
Now?
The mirror has become an overly honest friend — the kind who doesn’t know when to keep quiet
Every time I pass by, it whispers things like,
“Another silver hair? Oh, and where did your waist go, darling?”
Sometimes I feel like covering it with a dupatta. Out of sight, out of wrinkle
The Disappearing Waist and Other Mysteries-Menopause Body Changes
Somewhere between teenage dramas, tiffin boxes, and endless to-do lists, my metabolism seems to have packed its bags and left
My old sarees sulk in the cupboard, waiting for the day I “get back in shape.” My jeans glare at me accusingly from the corner
And my weighing machine? That traitor deserves to be donated to science
Of course, my husband says kindly, “You look the same to me.”
Sweet man. I suspect early cataract
But truth be told — the body changes are real
The skin feels thinner, the hair thinner still, and the confidence… well, sometimes that feels like it’s evaporating faster than the water in my curry

The Homemaker’s Revival Ritual-Menopause Body Changes
One evening, I decided to stop attacking my reflection and start befriending it
I lit a diya near the mirror and looked — really looked at the person i see
Not at the wrinkles, not at the uneven tone — but at the eyes that had seen decades of devotion, laughter, and resilience and who has been my constant companion
Here’s my new daily ritual:
1. A warm sesame oil massage (Abhyanga) – especially before bath; it grounds and nourishes both skin and spirit
2. A spoon of flaxseed powder, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds powder in morning with curd if it suits you or with warm water – great for hormones and that glow
3. making green leaves part of your daily diet like tulsi leaf, mint, coriander leaves and our very own curry leaves. either make a detox water or chutney out of it – because inner cleansing is the best beauty routine
4. And one genuine beautiful smile at the mirror every morning — for the acceptance and approval of all the flaws and imperfections of the person you seen in the mirror
The Spiritual Reflection-Menopause Body Changes
Our mothers taught us to keep our homes shining
Now it’s time to keep ourselves glowing — not from fairness creams, but from quiet acceptance and inner understanding of the mind, body and soul
That grey hair is experience
That soft belly is comfort
That line near the eyes? Proof that you’ve laughed enough to earn it
The mirror is no longer the enemy, rather it’s a reminder that beauty doesn’t fade, it deepens with experiences and knowledge

Reflection for Today’s Woman for Menopause Body Changes
“When you look into the mirror, don’t search for the girl you were
Smile at the woman you’ve become — she’s earned every shades of grace.”
hope this resonates with every woman i can connect with through this blog

much love … stay happy … stay blessed … always
