SHATAVARI AND ASHWAGANDHA
Shatavari and Ashwagandha - the Secret Wellness for Hormonal Balance
For years, I believed that Shatavari was the ultimate herb for women’s health, while Ashwagandha was more of a “man thing.”
But after exploring into multiple articles, I thought why not use both of them
What Are the herbs Shatavari and Ashwagandha?
Both these herbs have been used in Ayurveda for thousands of years, but each of them have their unique benefits that can support women’s hormonal health—especially when combined together
Yes! Both Shatavari and Ashwagandha have deep roots in Ayurveda
They are linked to Hindu mythology and ancient texts and their significance can be found in the wisdom of ancient Indian traditions
Shatavari -The Divine Feminine Elixir
Shatavari translates to “one who possesses a hundred husbands,” is regarded in Ayurveda as a female reproductive tonic ands know as the queen of herbs
SHATAVARI is believed to nurture and balance the female hormones

Shatavari is classified as a Rasayana (rejuvenator) in Ayurveda and is believed to promote longevity and overall well-being
here shatavari is known for promoting fertility, nourishment, vitality, feminine energy and overall hormonal health

Ashwagandha and the connection with Goddess Durga
Ashwagandha is known for its adaptogenic properties
it helps the body adapt to stress whether it is physical, mental, or emotional

🔹 Durga was gifted powerful herbs and elixirs by celestial beings to sustain her strength in battle

the ancient Indian system of medicine, has revered Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) and Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) for thousands of years
Their complementary nature is reflective of the balance between Shakti (feminine energy) and Shiva (masculine energy) – the divine forces that sustain life and harmony in Hindu philosophy
Both these herbs have been prescribed in Ayurveda for various conditions of females including PCOS, menopause, fertility issues, and adrenal fatigue

Why I Started Taking shatavari and ashwagandha Together
Being in my mid-40s, I’ve noticed that PMS has gone rogue—muscle pain, irritability, mood swings, fatigue—you name it!
So, I decided to experiment upon this. Instead of relying only on Shatavari, I added Ashwagandha to my routine as well, and the results?
Game-Changer! 🚀
I started consuming this mixture thrice a week, and here’s what happened:
✅ Periods pain eased
✅ Blood flow regulated
✅ Mood swings under control (my family is grateful!)
✅ PMS symptoms eased to some extent
👉 of course certain lifestyle changes are also to be made along with it
How I Prepare This Ayurvedic Concoction
Super simple! You don’t need a PhD in Ayurveda to make this
🔸 ½ tsp Shatavari powder
🔸 ¼ tsp Ashwagandha powder
🔸 1 cup boiling water
✨ Mix the powders in a cup, pour in the hot water, and cover it for 5-7 minutes.
If you want a little sweetness, add some jaggery for taste. Enjoy!
