DHANIYA PANJIRI RECIPE
Let’s see how to make lord KRISHNA special sweet- dhania panjiri on the occasion of janmashtami

making of panjiri combines the purity of makhana ( foxnuts ), richness of dry coconut and the aromatic essence of Dhania seeds
dhania panjiri is considered the most important prasad during the janmashtami

IMPORTANCE OF DHANIYA PANJIRI RECIPE
1. dhania panjiri is a falahari dish also served as janmashtami prasad and is often relished on fasts
2. dhania panjiri is popularly made in northern india, especially in punjab and uttar pradesh
3. dhaniya in hindi translates to coriander seeds and Panjiri is a nutritional sweet made with wheat flour
this panjiri is prepared as prasad – an offering made to hindu diety..so we swap wheat flour with coriander seeds
4. the preparation and consumption of dhania panjiri on janmashtami reflects our age old tradition and customs
let’s get started
INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING THE DHANIA PANJIRI
1. ghee or clarified butter

2. makhana / foxnuts

3. badam/ almonds

4. kaju / cashews

5. pumpkin seeds

6. dessicated coconut or dry coconut

7. dhania / coriander seeds

8. powdered sugar

9. elaichi/ cardamom powder

PROCEDURE TO MAKE THE DHANIA PANJIRI
1. in a pan take 1 tablespoon of Ghee
2. dry roast half cup each finely chopped Badam and kaju and Pumpkin seeds
and keep aside in a plate
3. take another teaspoon of ghee and roast finely chopped Makhanas and keep it with the roasted kaju badam
4. roast dessicated or dry coconut in ghee and place it in the plate
5. take the dhania seeds and grind it finely in a mixer jar. Strain it.
6. take a teaspoon of ghee, roast the dhania powder very nicely till it is brown and starts giving an aroma
( dhania powder has to be nicely roasted)
7. transfer it in a plate and mix all the ingredients together really well
8. add in the powdered sugar and the elaichi powder
mix well when all the ingredients are still hot
your tasty dhania panjiri ready to be served as prasad

CONCLUSION
initially when i made this panjiri, i thought dhania powder would give a strong taste but when all ingredients are mixed well, it got balanced
it is actually a very healthy recipe. you don’t have to wait for janmashtami to make this recipe
however jaggery powder can be added instead of sugar if you want the healthier version of this panjiri
