Oiling
oiling your body
Have you ever noticed how a squeaky door hinge stops complaining the moment a drop of oil touches it?
Our body is not much different. When stiffness creeps into our knees, shoulders, or back, sometimes all it asks for is a little love in the form of warm oil
This ancient practice of oiling, known in Ayurveda as Abhyanga, may sound like a big word, but at its heart, it is nothing more than gently massaging warm oil into your joints and limbs
Think of it as “oiling the machinery” that carries you through life
🌿 How I Do It the oiling (the layman’s way)
Choose your oil – I keep it simple: sesame oil or mustard oil or a combination of both which is my preference. it can be any oil according to seasons which i am not much aware of
No fancy bottles, just what’s in the kitchen
Warm it a little – not hot, just enough to feel soothing
Massage gently – circular motions over knees, shoulders, elbows, ankles, colar bones, behind your ears, underarms
basically oil at places in your body where it has folds
you can also tap at your joints and folds of your body for further enhanced blood circulation
It feels like telling my body, “I care.”
Let it soak in – I wait for 10–15 minutes before taking a warm bath

✨ Why I Love oiling
The stiffness in my joints eases
My skin feels nourished
More than anything, it becomes a quiet moment of self-care—almost meditative
🌸 The Inner Lesson of Oiling the Joints of Life - a spiritual touch
As I massage oil into my joints, I often think: life too has its “joints.”
Relationships with family and friends
Our daily routines and responsibilities
Even the connection between our thoughts and actions
When these “joints” dry up with neglect, ego, or busyness — friction begins
Just as oil softens and smoothens the body, a few drops of kindness, patience, and understanding can smoothen the joints of life
So, when I oil my knees, I also remind myself to oil my words with gentleness, my actions with compassion, and my days with gratitude and love
so i not only oil my body but i also oil my emotions, my mental blockages, my feelings and let go off all the negativity in my life along with the oil in my body with a nice warm shower😊
